The Association of Microbiologists of India was founded in 1938 to promote the advancement of microbiology and provide a common platform for educators and researchers in different areas of microbiology including medical, veterinary, agricultural, environmental, industrial, food and molecular microbiology. The Association was registered at Lucknow on June 29, 1959 with Registration No. 100. Researchers, teachers and professionals in microbiology or allied disciplines can be life or annual member of this Association. The application form for membership is printed in each issue of Indian Journal of Microbiology and can be photocopied for personal use.
